Love of Disney

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

I Love Disney!  One of the biggest questions I hear is “Why do you like Disney so much?” There is an easy answer for me.  My Grandfather use to take me to Disney from the time, I was a baby till I was almost a teenager, so when I go to Disney, I think about him and how much he cared for all of his grandchildren.  Now I am starting to take my wife and daughter.  I can tell you there is nothing like that feeling when, you see a loved ones face, either an adult or child, lights up with excitement.  Disney does that, and it could be that first sight of the castle or maybe it’s Mickey Mouse.  I can’t help but smile when I see either.  Everyone’s answer is different, but in some way they are all the same.

My thoughts on “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End”

Sunday, June 3rd, 2007

First let me start by saying I had the wonderful opportunity of seeing this amazing movie at the historic Senator Theater in Baltimore, Maryland. Quite an impressive classic theater to watch an impressive soon to be classic movie. Second I LOVE THIS MOVIE. It met all of my expectations (which I DID NOT think was possible). I love the development of Elizabeth Swan’s character. Of course who wouldn’t love all of the alter egos/personalities  of Captain Jack Sparrow. I never thought I would say this but I really like Captain (Hector) Barbosa Character. The combination of  action, comedy, and character development was superb in this movie. I could go on and on but why, my hands would get tired. With 15 sub plots in this movie (so I was told….I believe him) there was so much to take in….by the way did any of you catch the tie in with the original  track for the Disney ride Pirates of the Caribbean in the movie? I was there.

OK now I know I hadn’t seen this movie for a week after its release BUT there’s a few things I don’t understand. The first thing I don’t understand is the hanging in the beginning. The boy who was he? Why did he have one of the 9 pirate coins? Who gave it to him? Plus the same gentleman that told us about the sub plots also told us that boy and the last scene after the credits are some how tied together!!!! Can someone help me with this???? I’ve got some thoughts.

Oh yes and one more thing. I Can’t Wait to see the next one!!!! I Love How They Leave The End Of The Movie Open For Future Voyages with Captain Jack Sparrow.  Just remember this is todays generations Star Wars. The people are craving MORE…….so why stop now?!?!

Look Out PIRATES EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!

Thursday, April 26th, 2007

Literally there are Pirates everywhere you look in Walt Disney World and rightfully so. Lets start with a little movie call “Pirates of the Caribbean the Curse of the Black Pearl”. You may have heard of it. Well this little movie has been SO popular that it is doing something that you may not realize. This single movie has CHANGES the course of popular American Culture. Yes this one movie.

Let me explain. This Phenomenon turned almost every kid…and adult into a pirate at Halloween (I’m guilty I was one, too). If you don’t think this is true. Think back to last Halloween and I think you might just see a trend (a lot of little Jack Sparrows running around). From toys, to movies, to the History Channel who had “The Real Pirates of the Caribbean” and so on. It has become a fascination of this country so much that many different parts of our culture is trying to grab on for the ride.

In Walt Disney World alone they’ve change one of there signature ride to accommodate the movie with the same name. They’ve added the “Pirate and Princess Party” which in my opinion is one amazing “PARTY”…don’t miss the fireworks…and Captain Jack Sparrow!!!! It seemed like every child and adult were dressed as PIRATES (once again, guilty I was a real pirate for the night)!!! Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is now having Pirate of the Caribbean activities around the lake at the resort. Disney is even offering “Pirates of the Caribbean: Adventures on the 7 Seas Lagoon”. This is a whole weekend devoted specifically to “PIRATES” with treasure hunts at different ports, guest speakers, Pirate Pin trading, and collectibles.

It truly is amazing to have something right before our very eyes that has indeed changes the course of America culture. Maybe someday 15 to 25 years from now you’ll be at a Disney Theme Park with your kids, grand kids, a friend or just by yourself and look around and see kids and adults still dressing up as “Pirates”. You can think to yourself “I remember when this all started with Pirates of the Caribbean the Curse of the Black Pearl”! Pirates truly are every where!

A True Thrill Ride

Sunday, February 25th, 2007

I want to write about the most over looked thrill ride in all of Walt Disney World and Maybe the world!!!

The Tea Cups….thats right The Tea Cups!!!!! At the Mad Tea Party in the Magic Kingdom.

Let me explain. First compared to other thrill rides there is a very short line. Second there is no height limit. Third and most important where else can you control the speed of your thrill ride. I think my brother in-law, his friend, and I must have pulled 3 or 4 G’s …(heck thats more then Mission Space…haha)!!! What other thrill ride has a lingering effect for 5 minutes after the ride is over. THINK ABOUT IT!!

Remember this is NOT for the faint of heart or the weak stomachs!!! Don’t let all the small children around you fool you. It can be pretty scary…so be strong. You won’t regret it!!!!

Oh and one other thing, no matter how you ride the Tea Cups, fast and furious or slow and easy the child in you will say “Lets do it again”! So don’t run passed the Tea Cups to get your Fass Passes for the 3 Mountains (Space, Splash, and Big Thunder) because if you do you’ll be missing out on a “True Trill Ride”!!!

Disney Blogging

Tuesday, February 20th, 2007

Blog…What’s in a word, seriously BLOG. Who thought up a word like “BLOG”. I’m sure there is some logical reason that what I am doing is called a “BLOG”! Though I really don’t care I just think it cool that i’m doing it!!!

I guess I can start with a little back ground about myself. I’m Eric “HI”!My Disney back ground is not quite brief, actually it is quite long, drawn out, and detailed! SO I am going to make this as short as possible.

So here I go. I’ve now been to Walt Disney World 15 times. It all started with several trips with my family as a child. About 15 years later I met a girl who was CRAZY about Disney (and I do mean CRAZY about Disney). After about 5 months she had planned a week long trip to Walt Disney World. Since then I have proposed to her at Disney. Got married to her at Disney. Of course we Honeymooned in Disney. I guess you could say She’s made me CRAZY!!…about Disney of course.

I hope my future blogs are funny, random, weird, informative, interesting, and all Disney!!!!
